Review Panasonic Lumix TS4 12.1 TOUGH Waterproof Digital Camera

I have just purchased the DMC TS4 Blue. It is a great improvement on the TS3 in many ways. I especially appreciate the fully manual mode. I like to take shots of the night sky, stars in particular... the option set the shutter speed up to 60 seconds is amazing. The time is also marked as bonus. I am a little worried about leaving the camera in a spot for as long as it can be stolen, but for now, I have some amazing shorts. The overall image quality seems to have improved as well. The only major problem is that the manufacturer gives suggests that water seals be replaced to maintain the waterproof integrity to the water in the camera. They have not established what I consider a reasonable price for this maintenance procedure structure. To replace the seal you need to unscrew the two screws on the door and replace the seal. However, the fresh Department of Panasonic now $180 more shipping costs (both ways) to do so. I spoke with the service department and they have assured me new pricing is considered... so beware! A minor limitation, that I see with the camera is missing the point of the remedy, the menu was a little eccentric and takes a little time to get to.
